I am in love with clay and fascinated that such a simple substance can be turned into beautiful ceramics through hand-building or throwing on the pottery wheel. The tactile nature of clay is key to my work -  I add texture to each piece as much as possible.  

 

You will see in my work certain themes which repeat: landscape, sea, leaves and animals.  I love to walk in the unique countryside around Lincoln where I am based.  You can see in many pieces the inspiration of the light filtering through the trees, the fields circled by hedges, fences and trees. A keen scuba diver, I have spent a lot of time watching the reef creatures and shoals of fish and this inspires me to capture something of their movements as they swirl around us.
